The Honourable Vandana Mohit, Minister of the People, Social Development and Family Services, today, Monday June 2, 2025, met with key representatives of the Gender and Child Affairs Division and the Children’s Authority of Trinidad and Tobago to be briefed about the operations of both entities. These entities now fall under the remit of this Ministry, and the session was aimed at familiarising the Minister with their current operations and ongoing initiatives.
A key focus of today’s meeting was the status of projects and proposals that the entities have for the remainder of the fiscal year. Additionally, Minister Mohit sought an overview of the draft estimates for fiscal 2025-2026, underscoring her commitment to advancing ongoing initiatives and ensuring the successful implementation of new programmes for the upcoming year. Several technical meetings are also planned to discuss the details and the next steps in the context of service delivery to the people of Trinidad and Tobago.
The meeting highlighted the Ministry’s continued dedication to enhancing the well-being and protection of children and vulnerable groups in the country.
